2012 Annual Vahagn Setian b2v Memorial Run/Walk

2012 ANNUAL VAHAGN SETIAN B2V MEMORIAL RUN/WALK

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2012 BEVERLY HILLS

Dear Friend of Vahagn Setian Charitable Foundation,

This coming December will mark the 6th anniversary of Vahagn’s tragic passing and like last year, our community will gather to commemorate his life.

The 2012 Annual Vahagn Setian B2V Memorial Run/Walk will feature members of our Police Department’s prize-winning Baker-to-Vegas Relay Team. A wide array of Beverly Hills residents; City and School system personnel; students; our firefighters, prominent citizens and many supporters of VSCF will join them.

Together we will venture through the streets of Beverly Hills promoting leadership, teamwork and the courage to make the right decisions.

The event will begin at 8:30 AM on Sunday, December 2, 2012, with BHPD’s B2V Team (about 20 strong) running the course before the general start of the race, to make sure the course is free of any obstructions. Team members will then manage traffic control at the intersections, and monitor the course for runner safety.

We will also enlist the help of friends, family members and BHPD personnel (including cadets, explorers and DCS personnel) to work this event. Water stations will be located at Cynthia and Sunset and at the finish line. Our BHFD Paramedics will be on standby to respond to any health issues or injuries.

The gathering place before and after the event is the “boat court” below Police Department. That’s where you’ll find Check-In and booths for the VSCF, Beverly Hills Police Officers’ Association and those tasty “Bake Me Happy” cupcakes. Live music will be provided by “The Usual Suspects” jazz quartet.

The run/walk circuit starts at Rexford Drive and the Parkway; proceeds east on Parkway to Oakhurst Drive; north on Oakhurst to Cynthia; continues on Cynthia to Sunset Blvd; then turns west on Sunset to Alpine Drive; and finally south on Alpine back to Parkway.

This event reinforces the Foundation’s commitment to a number of positive social values. Together with our Police, City and School system we will:

Celebrate the life of a young Beverly Hills resident of great potential, who brought much joy to many hearts. We owe it to our residents to remember such people whom our community has lost.

Reinforce our shared commitment to wise decision-making; and our opposition to unsafe behavior such as drinking and driving, other distracted driving, etc.

Bring residents and police together in a display of solidarity for the social values that we appreciate and respect in Beverly Hills.

Show community support for wholesome community activities and physical fitness.

Promote teamwork, sportsmanship and selflessness.

Participation in this event is free of charge, but your donations are always welcome, much needed and greatly appreciated.

Join us, bring your family, your friends, and invite a guest. With your support we can continue Foundation’s important work.

With respect and gratitude,
Karén Setian
Chairman of the Board of Directors
