2011 ANNUAL VAHAGN SETIAN BAKER TO VEGAS MEMORIAL RUN/WALK 2

2011 ANNUAL VAHAGN SETIAN BAKER TO VEGAS

MEMORIAL RUN/WALK

The members of the Beverly Hills Police Department’s Baker to Vegas Team, jointly with the Vahagn Setian Charitable Foundation, invite you to the first annual Vahagn Setian Baker to Vegas Memorial 5K Run/Walk through the streets of Beverly Hills. The event honors the memory of Vahagn Setian whose young life was tragically taken in our city. This event will bring our schools, community and police together in promoting leadership, teamwork and the courage to make the right decisions.

The run will take place on the 5th anniversary of the passing of Vahagn, Saturday, December 3, 2011 starting at 8:30 AM. The BHPD’s Baker to Vegas Team will inaugurate the course prior to the start of the race. Then the members of the same team will monitor the course for the safety of all participants. Throughout the course there will be BHFD Paramedics available on call, as well as many BHPD volunteers. There will be a water station at the end of the run.

The gathering place before and after the run/walk will be in the “boat court” below the BH Police Department. The check-in booth, VSCF booth, Beverly Hills Police Officers Association Booth, Wells Fargo Booth, Gourmet Food Trucks along with live jazz music will be in the court as well. We welcome you to come out, have a good time, support the event and the runners! If you are running, you must check in before proceeding to the start point. The last runners will be allowed to start down the course no later than 10:30am.

This event offers several positive values for our city. The run will:

Commemorate the life of a young Beverly Hills resident of great potential, who brought much joy to many hearts. We owe it to our residents to remember such people whom our community has lost.

Reinforce our shared commitment to wise decision-making; and our opposition to unsafe behavior such as drinking and driving, texting and other distracted driving, etc.

Bring residents and police together in a display of solidarity for the values that we appreciate and respect in Beverly Hills.

Show community support for wholesome activities and physical fitness.

Promote teamwork, sportsmanship and selflessness.

The participation to this event is free of charge, but your donations are welcome, much needed and greatly appreciated.
