2007 Special Event

The Vahagn Setian Charitable Foundation 1st Annual Fashion Show -Sunday April 22, 2007

Anyone who visits this website, and anyone involved with its planning and implementation, is aware that our premier event for VSCF was the Fashion Show held at K. L. Peters Auditorium, Beverly Hills High School on April 22nd.

We are delighted to report that the show was a huge success in every respect. This is thanks to the dedication, generosity and hard work of many talented people. In less than two months something was accomplished that normally takes at least twice that long to produce.

We give individual thanks to the “angels” who enabled us to complete the project: the inspired students who conceived the idea, and gave their time and love to the project; the parents who heard the idea and were compelled to bring it to reality; the Beverly Hills Unified School District; our dedicated Police and Fire Department personnel; the High School teachers and administrators without whom the show could not have happened. Many parents opened their hearts and their homes – and their wallets – to support us at every turn.

Two professional recording artists Rob Gonzalez and Alex Boyd graced us with their talent and donated their time. The event could never have been complete without the delightful Master of Ceremonies, who were the cast from “South of Nowhere”. A professional team of Film and TV makeup artists, hair stylists and wardrobe specialists along with the professional backstage show-runners and group of students worked behind the scenes to make the show a memorable and successful event.

Our gratitude also goes out to top fashion designers Linda Stokes, Sterling Williams along with aspiring designer Eric Duran, who provided their outstanding designs for the fashion show. We thank designers Ed Hardy, Betsy Johnson, Stussy, J Brand Jeans, Poetry, Aida Ley, and various Beverly Hills boutiques such as Dale Michele, Fashion Outlet, Hands On, Hide Out who contributed their fashions to the show.

We would not be able to have a live auction without generous gifts from Hariri, Kantor and Kiesel families; Happy Madison Productions; cosmetic companies such as Jurlique, Darphin, Mac, Philosophy and Cargo; and the professionalism of our auctioneer, Beverly High parent Tony Magnemi, who made the auction an amusing and successful experience.

We would like to give special thanks to our cinematographer Donald Morgan A.S.C. who is a nine-time Emmy winner. Soon, we will have the DVD of the show available.

Thanks to Alice Kuo Shippee for beautiful photography.

Special thanks to Tina Pascoe representative and speaker for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). Once again, our heartfelt thanks to all who participated, you make us proud to be citizens of this community. Your support and generosity helps us in our mission of enriching the artistic environment by supporting students who wish to express themselves through the arts.

This dream is consistent with everything that Vahagn stands for.

FROM OUR HEARTS WE GIVE THANKS TO ALL OF YOU:
